UPLANDS PARK, MO. (KTVI) ? The Uplands Park Board of Trustees voted removed its chairman during an emotional meeting Tuesday.
At one point board members were screaming and one resident was removed from the meeting.
The village has been plagued with allegations of corruption and financial woes.
The financial situation resulted in the village failing to pay the phone and internet bill for its police department.
Henry Iwenofu was the chairman. He said ?corrupt? board members are behind the financial problems.
?I wanted to do an investigation and that is why they want me out,?
Iwenofu said.
However, some board members said Iwenofu is the problem and that is why he was removed as chairman.
?He gradually took over our accounts and we don?t know where they are,? Uplands Park Board of Trustees member Carmen Roberts said. ?Mr. Iwenofu is a habitual liar.?
Iwenofu left the meeting in protest before it was over.
?I will not participate in this,? he said.
Several residents told FOX2 ?all? of the board members need to be removed.
